What to expect when you come in?
    New to physiotherapy?

I’ve heard of physical therapy but I don’t know what it is. What is it?

Physical therapy is a medical, hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function. Physical therapists are medical experts in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and work closely with physicians.

Our physical therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your pain, and work to eliminate it.

While every patient’s condition and pain is unique, our physical therapist will use a variety of gentle hands-on techniques, exercises, and equipment to relieve pain quickly and restore your function to optimum levels.

The overall goal is to restore pain-free mobility and function and to prevent the injury or pain from recurring.

    Does it hurt?

    Does physical therapy hurt?

Physical therapy is not meant to hurt, but to relieve pain. However, as you restore your mobility, pain levels can fluctuate at times. You might experience some temporary soreness from using muscles that are weakened or recovering. This is a normal response to therapy treatment. Good communication with your therapist will help minimize any discomfort. We want you on your way to quick pain relief and back to normal activities.

    What to wear

What should I wear for my sessions?

Dress comfortably in clothes that allow easy access for the therapist to examine your problem areas.

For treatments, loose-fitting clothes that are comfortable for gentle exercises and supportive sneakers are often good choices to wear.

    Does it work fast?

How many sessions will I need before I feel better?

Each patient’s diagnosis is different, so together with your referring physician, your therapist will develop a plan of care that is right for you.

Your plan of care and number of visits will be determined during your first visit and explained to you by our physical therapist.

How to be ready for it?

Is there anything I need to do before my first appointment?

Yes. Register in PTEverywhere, you will get a link sent to your email to change passwords. Once you have scheduled your first appointment via phone consultation, paperwork will be electronically sent through the PTEverywhere patient portal. You will need to fill those out and sign electronically and submit them prior to your first appointment. These forms consist of HIPAA and consent to treat as well as past medical history. You may also electronically submit other supporting documentation (ie physician referral or imaging).

    But I'm not in pain...

I don’t have pain, can I still get in for an assessment?

Yes. We do more than just address pain. If you’ve been struggling with any movement-related issue, we are happy to help. Maybe you feel like your hamstrings or hips are always tight and you want to know why, maybe you’ve been missing lifts because your shoulder feels wobbly overhead, or you can’t get into a certain position that you need to during your daily activities. These are all problems that we can help you solve to keep you moving more easily. We are also able to help you “tune-up” prior to a competition or recover more quickly after a competition/training session with some tissue work and cupping so that you’re feeling looser and ready to tackle whatever life gives you.

    Policies & Procedures
    cash-based PT?

What does cash-based physical therapy mean?

Cash-based physical therapy means that we are out of network with all insurance companies and do not directly bill through insurance. Our patients pay us directly each visit for their 1-on-1, personalized physical therapy session.  This allows us to focus all our attention on the patient and perform treatments to focus on patient goals without being dictated by insurance rules and regulations.

    Health insurance

Aim 2 Move Physiotherapy does not accept health insurance at all?

No, we do not directly accept health insurance and are considered an out-of-network provider. At the end of each visit, the patient pays us for the session; however, if the patient contacts his/her health insurance company and learns that he/she has out-of-network benefits, then we are able to supply a receipt of payment to submit to his/her insurance company. By submitting your receipt, you may be able to recover a percentage of the cost you pay upfront from your insurance company.

    Pay with cash only?

Does cash-based mean I can only pay with cash?

We accept cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, health savings accounts (HSA), and flexible spending accounts (FSA). HSA and FSA payments can only be applied to Physical Therapy or Massage Therapy depending on your HSA/FSA provider, and cannot be applied to Performance Training. We recommend verifying details of your HSA/FSA account with your provider prior to your visit. Payment is due at the time of service.

    How much

What is the price for a physical therapy session?

    Standard Pricing:

    Evaluation: $219

*Package pricing available for packages of 6 or 10 visits.

    Why cash-based PT?

    Why cash-based physical therapy?

Insurance companies in the United States are continually cutting reimbursement rates for rehabilitation services and dictating how clinicians treat patients. With this decline in reimbursement, many clinics are forced to treat multiple patients in the hour and lower patient care standards to make ends meet. These clinics rotate patients in and use assistants and techs to complete treatments. Patients do not receive the individualized care they need and are encouraged to go through exercises with little to no supervision. With a cash-based practice, we can decide how we want to treat patients as we are not regulated by the insurance companies.  This allows us to provide 1-on-1 care for our patients over the course of the one-hour treatment session with the same physical therapist every time.

    Late cancellation fee

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours’ notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee of $100. Patients that “no-shows” for their appointment will be charged 100% of the scheduled appointment cost.
